Report a Street or Area Light Outage
If you have a power outage in your business or residence, please call
800-662-4PWR (4797)
.

If a street or area light-maintained by We Energies (see Identifying the Light Owner below) is not functioning correctly, please notify us any time by calling 800-242-9137 or using the online form below.

Municipalities reporting multiple lighting outages may use the fax form below, but should note that if a large number of outages are reported at one time, we may not be able to provide our typical 72-hour response for all the lights.

Outages submitted online and via fax forms are processed during normal business hours.

For safety reasons, most of our repair crews work during daylight hours. Since lights are not normally operating at this time, providing a pole number and precise location description greatly helps our crews locate and repair the correct light. If we are unable to locate the light based on your description, our crew may attempt to contact you from the site.

Under normal circumstances, We Energies will respond to reported light outages within 72 hours and complete the repair. However, a small percentage of light outages are the result of a major equipment failure or underground cable fault which require repeat visits and more than 72 hours to repair. In this event, we will notify you of the repair delay using the contact information you provide when you report the outage.

Identifying the Light Owner
Outdoor lights are owned and maintained by various parties -- municipalities, property owners and utilities. Before reporting a street light or area light outage to We Energies, please attempt to confirm We Energies as the responsible party.

  • Our light poles have a numbered metal tag that identify the location. If a tag is damaged or missing, report the pole's location to us.
  • If the pole is located in the City of Milwaukee, the street lights or alley lights are likely owned by the City. Call 414-286-3481 to report the outage to the City.
  • Most lights attached to buildings, lights on square poles and lights hanging directly from wires without brackets are owned by municipalities, private business or other private parties. We do not service these lights. Contact the municipality or business where the lights are located.
