The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. (EPRI) is an independent, nonprofit organization that conducts electricity research and development for public benefit. EPRI scientists and engineers work with experts from academia and industry to address electricity issues such as reliability, efficiency, health, safety and the environment. EPRI also provides technology, policy and economic analyses to drive long-range research and development planning, and supports research in emerging technologies. We Energies has been a member of EPRI since it was founded in 1973.
Research that addresses the environmental effects associated with generating, delivering and using electricity is complex. Helping the public understand the science and providing guidance to companies, policy makers and regulators is one of the objectives of EPRI's Issue Briefs.
