K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) Teacher Courses
We Energies provides scholarships to take graduate-level courses for credit. Through hands-on activities and discussion learn how to enhance your students’ understanding of energy, where it comes from and how it affects their lives. Classroom and online courses available.

Renewable Energy Educators Conference Grants
The new We Energies 2009 Renewable Energy Conference Grants program provides post-secondary (university and technical college) educators, not-for-profit educators, and K-12 public, private, charter and home school teachers grants to attend renewable energy conferences that help build renewable energy knowledge or technical skills for enhancing student instruction.
- Grants range from $750 to $2,500, depending on conference.
- Educators must be residents in the We Energies electric service territory.
- Grants will be in the form of reimbursement.
- Educators must complete all grant requirements to receive reimbursement program funds.
- Grant funds may be used to cover conference registration fees, relevant workshops or tours, travel, lodging, meals, and if necessary, up to one day of substitute teacher costs.
NOTE: Full-day attendance at conferences is expected from grant recipients.

The Wisconsin Renewable Energy Summit focuses on several major themes, including curriculum programs and course design, energy management, renewable energy practices, the bio industry, and solar electric, solar thermal and wind energy. Attend this conference to learn more about renewable energy and how renewable energy impacts the environment and economics.

The nation’s premier energy education event is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Attend the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair to explore hundreds of workshops and exhibits and to learn more about renewable energy and sustainable living from the world’s largest event of its kind.

Solar Energy International offers K-12 teachers hands-on education to learn more about renewable energy and how to implement classroom lessons on renewable energy through creative activities.

IREC organizes this national conference for educators. This year’s focus is on renewable energy and energy efficiency workforce development, featuring new ideas in educating a workforce in renewable energy. Conference sessions include best practice teaching models from technical high schools.

Renewable Energy Education Conference of Your Choice
Teachers may also submit an idea for a different renewable energy education conference. Idea must be approved for eligibility prior to conference attendance or receipt of grant monies. Grant amounts will vary depending on conference.

Explore the basics of electricity through our Energy in Our World Today newspaper.
